Installation Instructions

1. Mount the unit: Attach the operator to the gate leaf, ensuring correct alignment and secure installation.

2. Connect control panel (if part of existing kit): Integrate power, safety inputs, and limit switches to the 455D control board (if used).

3. Manual release: Confirm the key-operated manual release is functional to enable manual gate movement during emergencies.

4. Install positive stops: Ensure mechanical stops are placed at both open and closed positions to avoid overtravel (required by UL?325).

5. Functional testing: Open and close cycles should be smooth with visible hydraulic locking; observe cycles-per-hour performance under ambient conditions.

Recommendations

• Upgrade to dual (bi-parting) systems: Use this operator as a secondary in master/slave configurations for dual-gate setups.

• Use positive stops: Mandatory for extended-geometry gates to prevent structural or operator damage.

• Consider Arctic oil for extreme climates: While this version includes standard oil, FAAC offers Arctic oil alternatives for performance in freezing temperatures.
