Instructions for Installation

1. Turn OFF the AC power before working on the control board. 

2. If using enclosure version, mount the board & backplate securely, ensuring proper clearance and wiring space. 

3. Connect AC power (~115 VAC), connect motor outputs, accessory outputs, encoder/limit switches, safety devices (photocells, safety edges etc.), receiver if any. 

4. Hook up battery backup: connect 24V battery (usually two 12V batteries) to the battery connector, activate battery switch. 

5. Set the DIP switches / trimmers to define gate logic (open/close delays, overlapping gates, speed & force). 

6. If using solar charging or external charging devices, ensure correct wiring and disable internal charger if required via jumper J24. 

7. Once wired, test full open/close cycles. Check safety devices operate correctly, gate stops at limits, reverse on contact, etc.

• Use quality shielded cables for wiring motors and sensors to reduce interference.

• Keep firmware updated as per FAAC releases to ensure fixes and safety enhancements.

• Regular maintenance: check battery health (replace as needed), clean enclosure to avoid dust and corrosion.

• Ensure environment protection: control board should be mounted in a protected enclosure (weather, moisture, direct exposure) per NEMA ratings. 

• Use the UL-compliant version when required for building safety codes or commercial installations.

• Program safety devices (photo eyes, edges, loops) properly to avoid entrapment; always test safety features.

• Ensure the board is compatible with gate weight, length, and travel; adjust speed/force settings accordingly to avoid mechanical stress.
